Street sign with the Marketplace inscription

A marketplace is a two-sided platform where someone can sell a product/service to someone else who needs this product/service.

Basically, it works as a market online where you can sell your products to someone who is looking for exactly your kind of products.

Everyone knows about AirBnB and Amazon, right? They have changed completely how we know traveling and buying online. Offering a place where the user can find a solution for his problem while the other side can sell a product or service to the users who are looking for something you offer, this increases your chances of being seen and make deals, finding what you want as a product, as you can check different sources/suppliers all in once.

This is still a new concept, people are still learning how to enjoy the benefits of a Marketplace.

But very trending in the past decade, they are here to change our habits and change how the commercial relations have been working so far. As you can reduce your online advertising costs, reach a bigger amount of prospects, being seen in a well-known hub without many efforts regarding to advertising and reaching the right customer much easier than before, this tends to replace the e-commerces for some categories of products.

For the buyers,

it’s much more practical and easy to compare all the products and suppliers in one place

instead of checking for each one individually, visiting their website, checking the specifications of each product and so on. Therefore, a marketplace saves you a lot of time when making comparisons and finding the right product/service to your needs. It’s also easier to be in contact with your supplier before purchasing and making the best deal for both sides.

For the sellers, it’s very easy and practical to

sell your products online without the need of an

y e-commerce maintenance or the need to advertise your brand online.

A few good examples of successful marketplaces despite those ones I mentioned above, are Ali Express,, Lojas Americanas, Ali Baba,, Uber, and many others.

Most of the marketplaces though are focused on the final customer, B2C structure, offering products and services from a person to another (peer to peer, like Uber or Airbnb) and from a business to the customer, like Lojas Americanas or Amazon. But when you’re a business owner or the person in charge of buying the supplies for the company, you also need to compare the price and quality of the products, reputation of the suppliers, payment conditions and shipping costs. So, why there are not many B2B marketplaces yet?

Well, that’s for another blog post.

But we are here to change a bit the situation and help on these issues. If you own a business or don’t own a business but work with handicraft and want to sell in Europe or if you’re in Europe and would like to buy some Brazilian handmade goods like gemstones, organic fabrics, beachwear, jewelry, furniture, etc, we would love to know better what you have in mind.

You actually make it appear so easy with your presentation but I find this topic to be actually something which I believe I might never understand. It kind of feels too complex and extremely large for me. I’m taking a look ahead to your next put up, I will attempt to get the grasp of it!|
